Virginia wine country is quickly earning recognition for its exceptional wine and beautiful vineyard landscapes. Located in the heart of this remarkable region, The Inn at Little Washington offers an ideal gateway to explore some of Virginia’s most celebrated wineries.
With its Wine Spectator Grand Award-winning wine program, The Inn has cultivated relationships with many outstanding local wineries, and we are delighted to offer custom-curated winery day trips designed around your interests.
The experience begins with a conversation with our events director, who will learn more about your preferences, goals, and how you envision your day. From there, we will thoughtfully arrange an itinerary featuring two to four wineries, selected to suit your tastes and desired pace. Many of our winery partners offer exclusive experiences for Inn guests, from behind-the-scenes tours and private tastings to opportunities to meet the winemaker.
For an especially lovely outing, we can prepare a picnic lunch for you to enjoy along the way. Guests may choose to drive themselves, or transportation can be arranged for a more relaxed day of discovery.
Extend your stay and explore the richness of Virginia's Shenandoah Valley.

An intimate Scotch tasting led by Master of Scotch Jeff LaBelle, exploring rare bottles, distillery traditions, and the craft behind every remarkable dram.

Join shepherdess Sharron Proper for a charming farm “micro safari” featuring the Inn’s sheep, llamas, geese, and beloved flock of Red Star chickens.

One of The Inn’s most charming traditions: Farmer Andy leads a parade of American Buff geese down Middle Street serenaded by his soprano saxophone.
