Singles Sunday Supper
“For years, people have told me that they’ve always wanted to come to The Inn at Little Washington, but that they’re waiting for the right person. This has finally inspired me to create a special opportunity for single people to experience The Inn more comfortably”, says Patrick O’Connell, our chef and proprietor.
One Sunday a month at 5 pm, beginning on January 25th 2009, O’Connell will host a Singles Sunday Supper for up to twelve guests at the Chef’s Tables in his stunning kitchen. For the months of January, February and March, the all inclusive cost (including a 5 course tasting menu, wines, taxes and gratuities) for this adventure will be $165 per person.
“I’m sure that a common interest in the pleasures of the table will spark stimulating conversation. Good food and wine always seem to bring people together magically,” O’Connell explains.

The Inn at Little Washington is Ranked #1 Hotel Restaurant in the World by Travel + Leisure Magazine
The August 2008 issue of Travel +Leisure Magazine ranked The Inn at Little Washington as the #1 Hotel Restaurant in the world.
The magazine’s annual “World’s Best Awards” lists the top 100 hotels globally based on their reader’s survey. Hotels are evaluated in 5 categories: Rooms, location, service, restaurant, and value.
“I have never seen the staff so elated!” said Patrick O’Connell, Chef/Proprietor of The Inn. “As I said to them, the world is a very large place and there are quite a few wonderful restaurants out there. The most flattering thing of all is that this award reflects the opinion of thousands of well traveled people.”
“All of our team’s hard work and dedication is being acknowledged and appreciated,” he added. “This is a terrific present for our 30th Anniversary year”.
The Inn at Little Washington was rated #63 in the world overall among the top 100 on a list that includes the Hotel Bel-Air in Beverly Hills, The George V in Paris and the Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong.
The Inn ranked 18 overall in the U.S. and Canada, above The Bellagio in Las Vegas, The Biltmore in North Carolina and the Ritz Carlton on Central Park in New York.
The Inn is one of the smallest properties in the survey with just 18 rooms and suites. It was founded in 1978 and became the first Mobil Five Star Inn ever in 1989. It is one of only three, double Five Star hotels in the U.S. today.
