Cherry Blossom Walk & 5K Run for Breast Cancer
When: 10/10/2010
Runners are starting at 12:45, going to the end of the Greenway and returning to the start point. Walkers will begin after the runners finish at approximately 1:15, due to the narrow width of the course, go one mile and turn around.
Beginning just off Franklin Street, behind the former train depot, now Claire’s Restaurant, and next to the Galloping Grape, amidst old train cabooses.
Conducted on the tree-lined, Warrenton Branch Greenway, a former railroad into historic Warrenton, this very level 5K/3.1 mile paved course is perfect for a family walk or run with dogs, small children, and strollers.
Numerous parking lots and street parking spaces exist in the historic district but participants should consider car pooling or being dropped off. Lunch at one of the many historic eating and/or drinking establishments would complete this rewarding and enjoyable afternoon.
